2/8/2024 Robins vs. Minneapolis United
The Robins wrapped up the floor hockey regular season this afternoon at Armstrong with a 40th Anniversary alumni gathering and hockey game against Minneapolis United. With 20+ former Robins in the gym, the current Robins played a very solid game and defeated Minneapolis by a score of 8-2. Grady Lease and Nick Johnson netted the first two goals for the home team, with both assisted by Jose Leon Estrada. Estrada went on a tear from there, scoring the next 5 goals with a second goal by Lease giving the Robins an 8-0 lead heading into the third period. Estrada finished with 5 goals and 2 assists, Lease had 2 goals and 1 assist, Nick Johnson had 1 goal and 1 assist, Noah Mittendorff had 2 assists and Jayda Johnson had 1 assist. Kai Curtis, JoVonna Shepherd and Tim Vang all played very well on defense, making goalkeeper Sean Majeski’s job much easier. The win gives the Robins a 7-1 conference and 8-3 overall record. The Robins are the regular season conference champions and #1 seed at the floor hockey state tournament for the first time since 2014!
