Marcus Onsum

Head Coach, P.I. Team (Primary Contact)

Marcus Onsum has been on the Robins coaching staff since 1995. He has served as student manager, assistant coach and co-coach until being named head coach in January 2001. Marcus is a licensed adapted physical education teacher and was named the 2001-2002 and 2008-2009 Adapted Athletics Coach of the Year by the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association. In June 2015, he was named as a finalist for the 2015 National Coach of the Year Award sponsored by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. Besides his head coaching duties, Marcus also serves as president of the Minnesota Adapted Coaches Association and is the vice president of the Minnesota Association for Adapted Athletics.

Steve Onsum

Assistant Coach, P.I. Team

Steve has served as the team’s assistant coach since the 1996-1997 season. As a lifelong Robin, Steve participated all through junior and senior high school and served as the team captain from his sophomore year through senior year. During that time, he was a member of 5 state championship teams (as well as many 2nd & 3rd place teams). During his playing career, Steve was a featured story on the front page of the StarTribune sports section and on ESPN’s Scholastic Sports America. In 2002-2003, Steve was named the Adapted Athletics Assistant Coach of The Year. Steve also has been a founding player/member of the U.S. Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association and the Minnesota PowerHockey League, a growing sport for individuals who use power wheelchairs in daily life. In August 2004, as a member of the Minnesota Stars, Steve was named PowerHockey Cup Championship Game MVP after defeating the defending champion Toronto Rock in Minneapolis.

In October 2006, Steve and his brother Marcus were named ’Most Caring Coaches" by USA WEEKEND Magazine that appears nationwide.

In June 2007, Steve and Marcus were inducted into the World Sports Humanitarian Hall Of Fame in Boise, Idaho. During their trip, the brothers visited with children at a youth center, children’s hospital and mingled with fellow inductees NASCAR veteran Kyle Petty, eight-time NBA All-star Dikembe Mutombo and seven-time Major League Baseball All-Star Edgar Martinez.

Together, Steve and Marcus have coached the Robins to 26 MSHSL state championships.

Jonah Pridey

Volunteer Coach, P.I. Team

Jonah has served as a volunteer coach since the 2012-2013 season and was the team student manager for the Robins from 2009 through June 2012 when he graduated. Jonah is a graduate of Robbinsdale Armstrong High School and currently attends North Hennepin Community College where he is studying to be a teacher. Jonah has been a big help with his positive attitude and assistance with practice skills during the team’s 11 straight state championships since the spring of 2010.

Joe Dubisar

Volunteer Coach, P.I. Team

Joe has served as a volunteer coach since the 2015-2016 season and was a key player many of the Robins state championships. Joe is a graduate of Robbinsdale Cooper High School and currently attends North Hennepin Community College where he is studying sports business. Joe has been a valuable coach with his positive attitude and competitive spirit!
