The Robins were at home on Thursday afternoon for a game against the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs. The Robins took control early, scoring just 20 seconds into the game and went on to a 10-1 victory. It was a very balanced scoring attack for the Robins, with Jose Leon Estrada and Jayda Johnson both recording 2 goals and 2 assists. Nick Johnson, Noah Mittendorff and Abbi Lashuay all had 1 goal and 1 assist, while Junior Dockter finished with 1 goal and 2 assists. Micah Bomgardner and Tim Vang each had 1 goal, and Grady Lease had 2 assists. Kai Curtis played exceptionally well this afternoon on defense, hustling to the puck and making several great outlet passes to keep the Mustangs out of the Robins’ zone. Sean Majeski was the winning goalkeeper, spending the first 30 minutes in the net, giving up zero goals while making 5 saves. The Robins have a long road trip ahead of them next Thursday as they head to Brainerd to take on the Warriors at 4:30 PM.

The Robins resumed their regular season on Wednesday with a game at St. Paul Humboldt and defeated the Hawks 9-2. The offensive charge was led by Jose Leon Estrada’s 6 goals. Grady Lease had 1 goal, 1 block, and 1 assist. Jayda Johnson was the general on the floor and scored 1 goal. Kai Curtis had 1 assist and JoVonna “J-Shep” Shepherd had 1 Block. Noah Mittendorff had 1 assist. Abbi Lashuay scored 1 goal and recorded 1 block. Nick Johnson & Junior Dockter anchored the defense with crucial passing. Micah Bomgardner brought the energy. Sean Majeski grounded the defense with 8 excellent saves. The Robins take on the Anoka Mustangs next Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 4:30 pm in the Armstrong Community Gym.

The Robins cam up a bit short against Maple Grove in the first game of the Rochester Invitational on Friday night, losing 10-6. The Robins came back to tie the game twice, but could never completely take control of it. Jose Leon Estrada led the offense with three goals. Micah Bomgardner had one goal and one assist. Abbi Lashuay had one goal. Noah Mittendorff had an assist. Jayda Johnson had two blocks, one save, and did everything humanly possible, but the Crimson were too tough tonight. The Robins have two games on Saturday. At 10:30, they face Dakota United, and at 2:00 pm, the Rochester Raiders.

The Robins are off to a very quick 2-0 start in this young floor hockey season after a solidly played 10-5 victory over the Rochester Raiders. The game was very tight early on with the Robins clinging to a 3-2 lead late in the first period. Two goals in a 9 second span by Jose Leon Estrada opened thing up a bit heading into the first break. The Raiders pushed the tempo of the game from start to finish with a very quick and capable offensive attack, but every time the Raiders looked like they were going to really get back into the game, the Robins came up with timely goals. Estrada finished the game with 7 goals and 1 assist. Nick Johnson and Micah Bomgardner each had 1 goal and 1 assist, Grady Lease had 1 goal, Abbi Lashuay and Hector Vega Flores each had 1 assist, and in addition to her usual staunch defense, Jayda Johnson finished the game with 2 assists. Sean Majeski made 12 saves to earn the win. The Robins now have a little bit of a gap before their next games, which will happen on January 5-6 when they travel to Rochester to play in the Raiders Invitational Tournament.

The Robins got the 2023-2024 floor hockey season going Monday afternoon with a trip to Bloomington Kennedy HS to face the South Suburban Flyers and came away with an 8-0 victory. “Shut out Sean” Majeski was the winning goalkeeper with 2 saves. Jose Leon Estrada led the offense with 4 goals and 1 assist. Micah Bomgardner had 1 goal and 1 assist, Abbi Lashuay and Hector Vega Flores had 1 goal each. Jayda Johnson recorded 3 assists and anchored the Robins defense for most of the game. Robins are at home on Thursday to take on the Rochester Raiders at 4:30 pm.
