The Robins capped off a perfect regular season this afternoon with an 8-2 win over Anoka-Hennepin. The Mustangs held tough for the first 20 minutes and kept the Robins to just 3 goals in the first half, but the second half was all about the Robins relentless offensive attack and stingy defense. The Robins allowed just 12 shots on goal for the game, and only 4 in the second half while outshooting the Musangs 34-12. Jose Leon Estrada tied an all-time Robins’ record by scoring 7 goals this evening. Micah Bomgardner scored the other goal for the Robins and also was credited with an assist. Abbi Lashuay and Nick Johnson both finished with 2 assists while Jo’Vonna Shepherd added 1 assist.

The 7-0 Robins will be the #1 North seed at the adapted soccer state tournament on November 18-19 and will now spend the next two weeks preparing to for another run at a State Championship.

The Robins were on the road this afternoon at Park Center to face the Pirates for the third time this season. Much like the previous two games, this one was a tight, high paced affair for the first 10 minutes with the Robins taking a 3-1 lead. They started to wear the Pirates down a little bit late in the first half and started to pull away, leading 6-1 after 20 minutes. The second half saw many of the Robins’ younger players put in some solid minutes while making an impact both offensively and defensively. Jose Leon Estrada finished with 6 goals and 2 assists, Abbi Lashuay had 2 goals and 1 assist, including a long range goal on a direct kick. Calvin Bauman and Jayda Johnson added 1 goal and 2 assists each, with Johnson also scoring on a long range kick. Nick Johnson had 2 great assists while Jo’Vonna Shepherd and Junior Dockter also recorded nice assists of their own. Josh Reis was phenomenal in the net, making 32 saves including one on a penalty kick. Darius Larson led the defense with 7 blocks. The Robins close out the regular season on Wednesday with a game at the Andover Community Center against Anoka-Hennepin.

In the Robins’ final home game of the soccer season, they faced Minneapolis in a non-conference matchup. Minneapolis presented a level of speed, aggressiveness and physical play that the Robins had not yet seen this season. The Robins held their ground well enough to take a 3-1 lead into halftime, then simply wore Minneapolis down with a smothering defense and relentless offensive attack to secure an 8-2 vicotry while moving to 5-0 on the season. For the fourth time this season, Jose Leon Estrada scored six goals. Calvin Bauman and Junior Dockter also scored one goal each. Abbi Lashuay and Micah Bomgardner both added 2 assists while Nick Johnson and Jayda Johnson finisehd with 1 assist each. Jose Reis made 14 saves, while Darius Larson blocked 4 shots. The Robins wrap up the regular season next week with games at Park Center and at Anoka-Hennepin.

The Robins are now 4-0 after a 10-4 victory over Anoka-Hennepin. Calvin Bauman had his best game of the year, recording 3 goals while Jose Leon Estrada continued his scoring streak, finding the net 6 times. Jayda Johnson was great on defense to go along with her 1 goal and 2 assists. Abbi Lashuay had 2 assists and Nick Johnson had 1 assist. Josh Reis contiunued his impressive goalkeeping, stopping 10 of the 14 shots he faced. Overall, the Robins outshot the Mustangs 37-14. The Robins have their final home game of the soccer season this Thursday at 4:45 against Minneapolis.
