02/25/2020 Robins @ Anoka-Hennepin

For the second game in a row, the Robins came up with a remarkable third period effort to pull off a come from behind victory, this time defeating Anoka-Hennepin 8-7. A competitive first period ended in a 2-2 tie, but the Mustangs came out hot in the second period scoring the first four goals and running out to a 6-2 lead. The Robins answered with two of their own, but Anoka pushed the lead to 7-4 as the second period came to an end. The third period was all about the Robins’ offensive effort, as they put continuous pressure on the Mustangs’ defense. Marcus Strong started the third period scoring with a goal at the 9:32 mark, then assisted on a Sam Roles goal just 13 seconds later. Roles added another goal just over one minute later to tie the game 7-7 with 7:10 remaining. Ava Hetteen netted the game-winner on a pass from Roles at the 6:48 mark, and the Robins’ defense held strong from there. Roles finished with 4 goals and 3 assists, while Marcus Brady and Nick Johnson scored goals to go with those from Hetteen and Strong. Brady had 3 assists, Jayda Johnson had 2 assists while Strong and Hetteen also were credited with 1 assist each. Edgar Kinanga made 11 saves and Darius Larson blocked 9 shots. The Robins close out the regular season on the road with a game at Mounds View on Thursday.
