The Robins got the 2019 adapted soccer season under way this afternoon with a game at the Mounds View Rams. The Robins enter this season with a roster that looks vastly different than last year after graduating 5 seniors from last year’s squad and bringing in 6 new players for this year. The season started much like many have in the past, with the Robins scoring early and often while getting everyone involved. They managed to net 7 goals in the first 8 minutes of play and never looked back after taking a 10-1 lead into halftime. The Robins added 3 more goals in the second half to close out a very nice 13-2 win. Marcus Brady was the offensive leader for the Robins, scoring 5 times. Sam Roles added 2 goals and 3 assists to go with 1 goal and 3 assists by Ava Hetteen. Lucas Harper played goalkeeper for the first half, making 2 saves, then scored 2 goals as a forward in the second half. Newcomer Jayda Johnson scored a goal in the first half, then made 6 saves as goalkeeper in the second half. Micah Bomgardner and Josh Reis recorded 1 assist each, Nick Johnson had 1 goal and 2 assists, Nikki Dougan had 2 assists and Santana Washington had 1 goal. The Robins are at home on Thursday, September 19 to face the Park Center Pirates.
