The Robins’ three game winning streak came to an end tonight at the hands of the defending state champion Brainerd Warriors. This game was a very tight battle for two full periods, as the Robins held a 3-2 lead after the first period and were tied at 5 with 6:27 to go in the second period. Three goals by the Warriors late in the second period had them leading 8-5 as the third period started, however in the first five seconds of the third period Vincent Luu pulled the Robins back within 8-6. The rest of the third period was dominated by the Warriors as they scored 5 times and pulled away for the 13-7 win. Luu finished the game with 6 goals and 1 assist. Sam Roles had 1 goal and 1 assist, while Izear Joiner added 1 assist. Ava Hetteen did a great job filling in for Edgar Kinanga in the wheelchair defensive position, blocking 14 shots. Darius Larson had 13 blocks of his own and Marcus Brady made 38 saves. The Robins will look to get back on track next week with games against Mounds View (away) and Maple Grove (home).
