In their second meeting of the year, the Robins and Mustangs locked up in a very tight battle. The Robins got out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but Anoka responded with two runs in the home half of the opening inning. After another run in the second, the Robins held a 4-2 lead until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Mustangs strung together five consecutive hits and tied the game at 4. Sam Roles smacked a bases-loaded triple in the fifth inning to plate three runs for the Robins, then Darius Larson drove Roles in with a single on the very next pitch. The Mustangs added one run in the sixth before the Robins added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single by Brendan Bosker-Elliott. Roles finished the game with a double, a triple, two runs scored and 3 RBI. Calvin Gerdt finished the game with 3 hits, including a double and a triple to go with one run scored. Maddie Ausk had a great day at the plate, finishing with three hits, while Ethan Sullivan, Vincent Luu and Marcus Brady all had two hits each. The Robins continue their string of road games next Monday when they play at Osseo.
