On Monday afternoon, the Robins made their annual trek north to face off against the Brainerd Warriors. The Warriors were undefeated coming into this match-up, and for good reason. Their depth and firepower were simply too much for the Robins, as they cruised to a 10-5 victory. The loss put an end to the Robins’ four game winning streak. This game was relatively close through the first period, with the Robins trailing 3-1. There were a couple significant missed opportunities for the Robins in the opening period that could have made a difference in the game’s intensity heading into the second period. The Warriors opened the second period with four goals in less than five minutes to put the game out of reach. Jordan O’Donnell and Sam Roles were credited with assists for the Robins, while Brendan Bosker-Elliott had 1 goal, Vincent Luu had 2 goals and 1 assist and Calvin Gerdt had 2 goals and 2 assists. Hayley Engebretsen made 20 saves while Darius Larson blocked 6 shots and Ethan Sullivan blocked 4.
