The Brainerd Warriors were in town today for a match-up with the Robins at Armstrong High School. This was a very tight game for the first period and a half, with the score tied at one mid-way through the second period. The Warriors then netted four goals in a four minute span to open the game up, and then pulled away with a 9-3 victory. The Robins looked really good during the opening stretch, playing solid defense and putting a ton of pressure on the high-powered Warriors, but they just couldn’t keep up. The Robins got goals from Calvin Gerdt, Sam Roles and Izear Joiner, with Brendan Bosker-Elliott getting credit for an assist. Hayley Engebretsen made 33 saves, while Edgar Kinanga led the defense with 14 blocked shots.
