09/27 & 09/28/2017: In a rare back-to-back sequence between the same two teams on consecutive days, the Robins picked up 2 nice wins and are sitting atop the North Conference with a 4-0 record.

On Wednesday, the Robins were at home against the Mounds View Rams. This game was tense in the opening 20 minutes with the Robins struggling to find their stride, and holding a slim 3-2 lead. The second half opened with a much faster pace, as the Robins offense found the net twice in the opening 75 seconds, and four more times overall, including two goals on penalty kicks by Hayley Engebretsen and Kajon Terrell. At the final buzzer, the Robins were walking off the floor with a 9-2 victory. Sam Roles led the way with 4 goals, and Calvin Gerdt was strong in a supporting role, tallying 2 goals and 4 assists.

On Thursday, the Robins were in the Rams’ gym for the rematch. Another tight first half ended with the Robins leading 2-0. As was the case on Wednesday, two quick goals early in the second half put the game away for the Robins, as they eventually pulled away for a 6-0 win. Vincent Luu made 20 saves to earn his first shut-out of the season. Calvin Gerdt notched 3 goals and 2 assists, Same Roles had 2 goals, Hayley Engebretsen and Marcus Brady each had 2 assists.

The Robins have a bye in their schedule next week, and return to game action on Monday, October 9 against Park Center.
