Robins 1- Dakota 22
In the playoff game in Apple Valley at Eastview High School the Robins lost to Dakota 0-22. The game started off with a great block from Brandon Worth. Brandon had 3 shots on goal from the defensive end this evening. Again 2 minutes later Brandon had another great block. Starting the game the Robins defense was the highlight. Lauren Larsen did a great job defensively starting the game with a nice pass from Sandy to clear the ball to the other end of the field. Offensively, Steven Snodgrass had 1 shot on goal while laura Nelson also made 1 shot on goal. Coach Jim encouraged the "Laura play." He decided to call it the full Nelson. Laura's famous backward shot late in the game from Lauren Bom Bom Larsen was a great play by the "L's". Coach Silbaugh noticed that Jennifer Dorr wore make up tonight. Jim said," It is much more important to look good than to ........" Manager Jonathan Krolak had no good quotes this game but helped Coach Silbaugh keep stats. Brandon Worth score with 1 minute 45 seconds left in the first half but sadly it was for Dakota. Tori Percy had one shot on goal and had a excellent offensive effort this evening in the final soccer game of her high school career. Big B, Brandon Worth and Bomb Bom Larsen had a great defensive game moving the ball down field with their powerful kicks. There was a slight mix up when coach Silbaugh and Coach Engler had a difference of opinion on who should come of the game, Ian or Steven. Coach Engler was starting to get competitive and some frustration came out when the officials wouldn't call a hand ball on Dakota. Rounding out the Robins roster were Ian Dichinger who has been a great new player on the team, Sandy Fuller also new to the team this year, and also tonight was Jennifer Dorr's debut as goalie. Jenny had 5 saves, Sandy Fuller had 2 saves and Steven when replacing Sandy Fuller in goal had 3 saves. Coach Engler along with manager Josh Buell stuck to their game plan. Coach Silbaugh was busy scoring this evening. The coaches gave nicknames over the season to the players: there is Bom Bom Larsen, Big B (Brandon Worth), Laura Honey, Terrific Tori, Stevey Wonder, Jumping Jenny, Handy Sandy and Important Ian. Dakota showed great depth with 9 of their players scoring with no one showing the clear lead offensively. The Robins wish them well as they advance to State. The Robins have their soccer athletic banquet next Thursday November 8, 2007. Home to see all family and friends there with our players.
