2003-2004 Adapted Floor Hockey Results
Robins 3 - Maple Grove 8
The Robins lost their final game of the State Hockey Tournament with a score of 8-3 to Maple Grove. Sam Harrington, Andy Bell, and Nikki Crawford each made 1 goal for the Robins. Sam H. had 6 shots on goal, Andy Bell had 13 shots on goal, Josh Bell had 7 shots on goal while Jonathan Krolak and Dustin Peterson each had 1 shot on goal and Nikki Crawford had 2 shots on goal. Andy Bell had the only assist of the game. Maple Grove out shot the Robins 41 to 32 shots to win the game 8 -3 for 3rd place. The Robins finished the tournament with in 4th place, after their 5th place standing for the regular season. The Robins had a wonderful hockey season and tournament. They will miss senior student manager Mary Devine and senior goalie Tim Johnson next hockey season.
Robins 4 - Winona 14
On Saturday March 20, 2004 the Robins lost the semi-final game of the State Hockey Tournament to Winona with a score of 14-4. Josh Bell lead the scoring for the Robins with 2 goals from 12 shots on goal. Andy Bell shot 7 on goal scoring 1 with 2 assists. With her first goal of the season Brittany Bern made her goal with only one shot on goal. Dustin Peterson and Ryan Degner each had 2 shots. Sam Harrington had 1 shot on goal to round out the Robins offensive effort. Nikki Crawford, Ryan Degner and Tom Smith came up with 1 penalty each for the game. Also playing for the Robins was Jacob Yurick, Jonathon Krolak, Tim Johnson and Jason Dorr. The Robins moved on to the 3rd place game with Maple Grove.
Robins 11 - Anoka 10
The Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka Robins defeated Anoka 11-10 in the first round of the State Adapted Hockey Tournament at Stillwater March 19th. Andy Bell had 18 shots on goal with 5 goals and 1 assist. Dustin Peterson had 6 shots on goal and 5 goals and Josh Bell had 7 shots on goal and 1 goal with 1 assist. Senior goalie, Tim Johnson had 28 saves. Subbing in at goal to give Tim a rest was Tom Smith who had 4 saves. This was an upset victory for the Robins who go on to the medal round and play Winona Saturady, March 20th at noon. Good luck Robins!
Robins 22 - Wayzata 5
The Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka Robins defeated Wayzata 22-5 in the Playoff game at Hosterman to advance to the State Hockey Tournament. In another turn of fate the Robins ended up playing Wayzata while Coach Evans was suspended from coaching 1 game; this one because of the strategic forfeit to South Suburban. He will return to coach at the State Tournament. Assistant coach Silbaugh helped the Robins secure a victory with the help of student manager Mary Devine. Tim Johnson started in goal and had numerous saves. Tom Smith relieved Tim for one period and also had a number of saves. High scorer for the Robins was Andy Bell with 6 goals, 2 assists with 11 shots on goal. Next was Josh Bell with 5 goals, 2 assists and 7 shots on goal. Jonathan Krolask had 3 goals, 2 assists, and 5 shots on goal. Jacob Yurick had 2 goals, 1 assist with 4 shots on goal, Dustin Peterson had 2 goals and 1 assist with 5 shots on goal, Sam Harrington had 2 goals, 2 assists with 3 shots on goal, Ryan Degner had 1 goal, 2 assists with 3 shots on goal, Nikki Crawford had 1 goal and 2 shots on goal and Brittany Bern rounded out the offense with 1 shot on goal. Also contributing to the game was Jason Dorr on offense and Tom Smith as center. The main contributing factor in the victory was the great passing game the Robins demonstrated. The Robins practice this Thursday, next Tuesday and Thursday and play Friday night March 19th in the first game of the State Hockey Tournament.
Change in Playoff Tuesday March 9, 2004
The schedule has again changed do to adjustments in disqualification information. The Robins will now play Tuesday March 9th against 12th ranked Wayzata. St. Cloud, whose position has changed will play against Dakota United in a seperate playoff game. The Robins' game will be at Hosterman Tuesday evening without coach Evans. The Robbinsdale Athletic director John Oelfke has issued a one game suspension to Coach Evans. The team will be coached by Assistant Coach Silbaugh. Coach Evans will again coach the Robins when and if they advance to the State Tournament. This certainly has been an interested chain of events. The team winning the playoff game will advance to the State Floor hockey Tournament March 19th and 20th. Practices this week will be March 11th and next week March 16th and 18th if and when the Robins advance to State.
Robins vs. St. Cloud Tuesday March 9, 2004
In a strange turn of events, on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 5 pm, the Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka Robins will play St. Cloud at Hosterman in a playoff game. The winner will advance to the State Floor Hockey Tournament March 19 and 20, 2004 at Stillwater. Although the Robins forfeited their final game of the season in an attempt to be placed against Wayzata for the playoffs, Owatonna had to forfeit several games for disqualification and move down in the final placement causing the Robins then to tied in placement and ended up 5th in the standings. With St. Cloud at the bottom of the standings do to disqualification, the Robins will host them for the playoffs. This has been an interesting season for the Robins and we wish them luck as they play Tuesday for advancement to State Tournament against a strong St. Cloud team. Good luck Robins
Robins Forfeit to So. Suburban Played a scrimmage Robins 10- So Suburban 5
The Robins of Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka defeated So. Suburban in a scrimmage game following their Parent Appreciation Night presentation, with Mark Krolak and John Bell officiating. Goals were made by Josh Bell who had 3,Andy Bell, Ryan Degner, Dustin Peterson each who had 2 goals and Jacob Yurick, Sam Harrington each who had 1 goal. Playing goalie for the game was Tom Smith who did a terrific job. Also playing for the Robins were Brittany Bern, Jason Dorr and Nikki Crawford who each took their turn as defense and offense. Coach Kerry Evan decided to forfeit the game this evening, to give the Robins a better chance to play a team in the playoffs that their record earned. St. Cloud in a good jesture forfeited their games after March 2nd do to an ineligible player. This put St. Cloud in last place and the Robins if they had played and won, would have been in 5th place. The coaches consulted the parents and players before deciding to forfeit. The Robins will host the playoff game at Hosterman on Tuesday evening starting at 5 pm and it currently looks like they will be playing Wayzata. Hope to see everyone there to cheer them on to victory and the State Tournament.
Robins 7 - Maple Grove 15
Maple Grove defeated Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka with a score of 15-7. Andy Bell was high scorer for the Robins with 6 goals and 1 assist. Sam Harrington made the other goal and had 1 assist. Josh Bell and Nikki Crawford each had 1 assist to round out the Robins offensive effort. Tim Johnson had a good first period in goal and was replaced by Tom Smith who did a good job after leading the Robins JV in a victory. The Robins have one game remaining in the regular season before playoffs.
The Robins JV defeated Maple Grove with a score of 6-4. Dustin Peterson was lead score with a hat trick. With Dustin's 3 goals came 3 assists. Trevin Rawls had 2 goals. Jacob Yurick had 1 goal and 1 assist and Stacey Anthony in the last game of the hockey season for her had 1 assist. Rounding out the Robins roster doing a great job at defense was Brittany Burn. Tom Smith did an outstanding job in goal. This was a great game for the Robins JV.
Athletes and Cheerleaders are thanking their parents during the next game. Parent Appreciation night is March 4th starting at 6:15pm before the game with South Suburban. State tournament is March 19th and 20th and the Robins will have a playoff game the week of March 8th.
Robins 18 - Dakota 5
the robins defeated Dakota at home Feb 24, 2004. Josh Bell was leading scorer with 12 goals. Andy Bell made 5 goals and Nikki Crawford made 1 goal. Josh had 18 shots one goal while Andy had 8 shots on goal. Niki took 3 shots and had 3 assists. Andy Bell also had 3 assists while Josh Bell and Ryan Degner each made 2 assists. John Krolak had 1 assist. Other Robins with shots on goal were Dustin Peterson and Jacob Yurick each with 1 shot on goal. Rounding out the Robins offensive effort was Brittany Burns, Stacey Anthony, Sam harrington, Ryan Degner, Trevin Rawls, and Jason Dorr. Tim Johnson had 12 saves while Tom Smith had 3 saves while in the goal. Sam Harrington and Ryan Degner replaced by Andy and Josh Bell for a time where terrific in defense this evening. The Robins felt like this was an upset of expectations against Dakota. Tomorrow evening the Robins meet Maple Grove in an away game at 4:15 pm. Next Thursday March 4th is the Robins last home game of the regular hockey season and the Parents are invited to come for Parent Appreciation Night. The Hockey State Tournament is March 19 and 20th.
Robins 9 - Winona 15
Winona defeated the Robins 15-9 when the Robins traveled to Winona February 19, 2004. Josh Bell was high scorer for the Robins with 5goals. Andy Bell scored 2 goals while Jonathan Krolak and Dustin Peterson each scored 1 goal. Andy Bell had 4 shots on goal along with Tom Smith who also had 4 shots on goal. Tim Johnson had 3 shots on goal. Assists tonight came from Jonathan Krolak, Andy Bell, Tim Johnson and Josh Bell each with 1 assist. Tom Smith started in goal and Tim Johnson followed the second period. Andy Bell was in goal 10 minutes before Tom again returned to goal. According the coaches Tom Smith is coming on strong as a goalie and with a little more experience will be a huge asset to the team.
Robins 6 - Anoka 9
The Robins traveled to Coon Rapids Junior high to meet Anoka. Anoka defeated the Robins 9-6. Although coming on strong with 3 goals in the last 2 minutes the Robins were unable to catch Anoka. Josh Bell was lead scorer with 4 goals. Andy Bell and Ryan Degner each scored 1 goal. Andy had 10 saves in the first 2 periods and Tim Johnson had 5 saves in the last period. Tim Johnson, John Krolak, Jacob Yurick, Dustin Peterson, Tom Smith and Stacy Anthony all had shots on goal. Rounding out the roster for the Robins was defense man Sam Harrington, Jason Dorr and Trevin Rawls. Jonathan Krolak came in the 3rd period as defense and did a great job. The Robins travel tomorrow to Winona. This bring the Robins record to 5 wins 3 losses.
Robins 19 - Wayzata 1
The Robins of Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka defeated Wayzata with a score of 19-1 Tim Johnson started in goal and had 3 saves first period, Andy Bell went in goal 2nd period and had 4 saves and finishing up the game in 3rd period was Tom Smith with 3 saves. Andy Bell was high scorer with 6 goals while Josh Bell and Dustin Peterson each had a hat trick with 3 goals a piece. Tim Johnson, John Krolak, and Jacob Yurick each had 2 goals while Ryan Degner made 1 goal. Andy Bell had 12 shots on goal, Josh Bell had 9 shots on goal, John Krolak had 5 shots on goal, Tim Johnson and Dustin Peterson each had 4 shots on goal while Jacob Yurick and Brittany Bern each had 3 shots on goal. Rounding out the shooting was Stacey Anthony and Tom Smith with one shot each on goal. Defensive powerhouse Sam Harrington had a great game and Jason Dorr rounded out the Robins offensive effort. Assists tonight where made by most of the players. Sam Harrinton, Josh Bell, Andy Bell each with 3 assists, Tom Smith with 2 assists and Andy Bell, Ryan Degner, Tim Johnson and Stacey Anthony each with 1 assist. This was a good passing game for the whole team. Wednesday February 18th the Robins travel to Anoka for a make up game. Thursday the 19th they travel to Winona to play. Looking forward Parents night will be March 4th when the Robins meet South Suburban.
Robins 6 - North Suburban 1
February 10, 2004 the Robins defeated North Suburban at Centennial High School. Josh Bell was the leading scorer with 4 goals Tim Johnson and Dustin Peterson each made 1 goal. Ryan Degner had 1 shot on goal, Sam Harrinton had 4 shots on goal Josh Bell had 6 shots on goal Time Johnson made 3 shots on goal, Dustin Peterson had 2 shots while Stacy Anthony and Jacob Yurick each had 1 shot. The only assists of the evening came from Tim Johnson and Stacy Anthony each with one assist. Andy Bell as goalie, made eleven saves. Rounding out the Robins play was Jason Dorr, and Tom Smith who had recently stepped it up a notch to become a leader on the court as stated by Coach Evans. The Robins meet Wayzata at home on Thursday 2/12/04. Looking forward the Robins have set February 24th home game against Dakota as Parent Appreciation night.
Robins 8 - Hudson 0
The Robins defeated Hudson with a score of 8-0. The Robins held Hudson scoreless while Josh Bell scored 6 goals and Ryan Degner scored 2 from 2 shots. Along with their scoring Josh and Ryan each had 1 assist. Sam Harrington had 2 assists and for most of the game played terrific defense to help the Robins hold Hudson scoreless. Andy Bell played goal the whole game and had 22 saves. Tim Johnson had 5 shots on goal and John Krolak had 3 shots on goal. Also playing tonight for the Robins was Tom Smith, Trevin Rawls, Dustin Peterson, Jacob Yurick and Jason Dorr. The Robins meet North Suburban in an away game on 2/10/04.
Robins 13 - Moundsview 7
The Robbinsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka Robins defeated Moundsview at home with a score of 13-7. The game was close until the 3rd period when the Robins moved ahead with a substantial lead while late in the game Moundsview answered with 2 more goals. Andy Bell and Josh Bell each had 5 goals for the Robins while Tim Johnson nicked named SW (the secret weapon) started the game at wing and scored 3 goals early in the game to inspire the Robins. When Moundsview answered back and took the lead Tim went in goal and had 14 saves for the evening. Josh Bell had 5 assists, Ryan Degner, Sam Harrington, John Krolak and Jacob Yurick each had 2 assists. Nikki Crawford had 1 assist. Andy Bell when in goal had 4 saves as defenders Sam and Ryan keep the puck in the Robins offensive end. This brings the Robins record to 2-2.
The Robins JV and Moundsview JV played in the Robins JV's first game of the season. Moundsview defeated the Robins 2-0. Playing for the Robins was Tom Smith in goal, Jacob Yurick on defense, Brittany Bern who started on defense and moved to wing. Trevin Rawls on wing, Stacey Anthony as Center , Jason Dorr who also played wing and John Krolak who also moved from offense to defense. Tom Smith had 5 saves, Jacob Yurick had 2 shots on goal while Brittany, Stacy and Trevin each had 1 shot on goal. The Robins JV showed promise on their first outing of the hockey season.
Robins 5 - St. cloud 15
The Robins traveled to St. Cloud and received their first loss away from home. Tim Johnson had 10 saves in goal before Andy Bell went into the goal and had 13 saves. While Tim was in goal Andy had 5 shots on goal and 1 assist. When Andy was in goal Tim had 2 shots on goal and 1 assist. Sam Harrington moving back and forth from defense to offense had 1 goal on his only shot on goal this evening. John Krolak had 1 shot on goal. Leading scorer tonight for the Robins was Josh Bell with 6 shots on goal and 4 goals and 1 assist. Rounding out the roster for the Robins were Tom Smith,Dustin Peterson, Brittany Bern and Jason Dorr. The Robins' student manager is Mary Devine. The Robins host Moundsview on January 27th.
Robins 3 - Owatonna
The Robins lost their first home game with a score of 3 - 10 to Owatonna. Andy Bell although under the weather made 2 goal with 8 shots on goal and 1 assist. Josh Bell had 5 shots on goal and 1 assist and Ryan Degner had 2 shots on goal and 1 goal while Sam Harrington had 1 assist to round out the Robins offensive effort. Also playing for the Robins were John Krolak, Nikki Crawford, Jacob Yurick, Stacy Anthony, Dustin Peterson, Brittany Bern, and Jason Dorr.
Robins 14 - St. Paul Humbolt 5
The Robins defeated St. Paul Humbolt in the opening hockey game of the season on January 8, 2004 at Humbolt. Senior goalie Tim Johnson had 14 saves for the evening. Andy and Josh Bell each scored 6 goalies with Josh making 3 assists and Andy making 2 assists. Scoring 1 point each were Nikki Crawford and Jacob Yurick with Nikki also making 1 assist. Doing an outstanding job on defense was most valuable player of the game Sam Harrington on left defensive position and Ryan Degner on right. Starting on left wing was John Krolak who had 4 shots on goal. Alternating at left wing was Stacy Anthony with 2 shots on goal and newcomer 7th grader Brittany Bern making her debut in hockey. Also new to hockey this season was Daisy Morales, and Dustin Peterson. Rounding out the Robins roster wer Trevin Rawls, Jason Dorr, and Tom Smith. Mary Devine is new to the position of student manager and doing a great job. The Robins are coached by Kerry Evans and Marlys Silbaugh. Thursday, January 15th the Robins meet Owatonna at the first home game of the season. Good luck to the Robins who have started the season with a sound victory.
