2003 Adapted Soccer Results

Robins 3- South Washington 9
After the semi final the Robins lost their final game of the season to 1st seed South Washington who were defeated by Minneapolis early. The Robins although they held them the first half wore down and lost 9-3 with Andy Bell making 2 goal, Josh Bell making 1 goal and Nikki Crawford making an assist.


Josh and Andy Bell made the all tournament team while Josh Bell, Andy Bell Mary Devine were named to all conference. Ryan Degner and Tim Johnson were named honorable mention.

For the Robins it was a significant and memorable season.

Robins 6- Park Center 7
The Robins lost in a close game to Park Center in the semi finals of the State soccer tournament. Park Center came out strong with the Robins struggling to get on the board. Josh Bell had 5 shots on goal making 2 goals, Andy Bell had 4 shots on goal making 3 goals, Tim Johnson had to shots on goal while Jacob Yurick made 4 shots on goal and made 1 goal. Andy Bell and Sam Harrington saved 13 the first half and Sam Harrington and Tim Johnson saved 9 the second have while in goal. At one time the Robins were down 6-2 and game back to make it a real ball game. With 25 seconds left in the game and a chance to score the Robins had 2 attempts before time ran out. They advanced to the 2:25 3rd and 4th place game.

Robins 7 - North Suburban 3
In the first game of the State soccer Tournament the Robins defeated North Suburban 7-3. Josh Bell was high scorer with 4 goals and 1 assist. Andy Bell was next with 2 goals and 2 assists. Nikki Crawford scored 1 goal and made 2 assists and Jacob Yurick rounded out the Robins scoring effort with 1 assist. Starting in goal for the first time all season was Ryan Degner who had 12 saves. Ryan was releaved by Sam Harrington another of the Robins top defenders and he made 4 saves before the Robins #1 goal Andy Bell came in and had 1 save. Defensively Ryan Degner, Sam Harrington and Stacy Anthony shut the defense down and there were only 2 shots on goal in the 2nd half of the game for North Suburban team. Tim Johnson played both offense and defense tonight while Tom Smith, Trevin Rawls and Jason Dorr rounded out the Robins Roster. All conference player Mary Devine was very helpful assisting from the bench. The Robins play Park Center at Noon Saturday in the semi-finals. South Washington plays Minneapolis and the winners of those game play for the championship and the loser play for 3rd and 4th place. Good luck to the Robins who have had a great season this year.

Robins 6- Dakota 5
The Robins defeated Dakota in a hard fought game 6-5. The Robins missing Captain Mary Devine played a great game against a strong Dakota team. Josh Bell scored 2 goals and had 1 save, while his brother Andy Bell had 4 goals. Tim Johnson had 2 assists to round out the Robins offense. Andy Bell started in gaol having 7 saves and a great game both offensively and defensively. Sam Harrington had 2 saves and gave up 3 goals while Tim Johnson had 2 saves before Josh Bell finished in goal with 4 very important saves. Josh Bell had a very nice game both offensively and defensively. Rounding out the Robins defense were Ryan Degner who played both Midfield and defense, Stacy Anthony who played both Mid field and defense and offense, and Nikki Crawford who who played left and right wing during the game. Jacob Yurick had a couple of close ones while on offense, while Jason Dorr and Tom Smith rounded out the bench. Tonight was parent appreciation night for the Robins and the Cheerleaders. The Robins advance in second seed in a 3 way tie for second and a lucky draw. The Robins have a week of practice before tournaments start next Friday November 7th at Stillwater. Good luck Robins. The first game of tournament starts at 8 pm.

Robins 4- Minneapolis 13
In what started as a defensive battle the Robins lost to Minneapolis with a score of 13-4. With Andy and Josh Bell each getting two goals the Robins could not seem to get a rally going against another strong defensive team of Minneapolis who upset the Robins to take the tie for first away from the Robins. Coaches Evan and Silbaugh tried every combination to get a rally going but the biggest loss of the night was that of Mary Devine who injuried her ankle. Rounding out the roster for the Robins was Tim Johnson who had 10 saves while in goal, Sam Harrington also with 10 saves while in goal. Relieving Sam in goal was Andy Bell with 20 saves but offensively the Robins just could seem to make headway. A strong kicking team Roosevelt and their goalie did a great job against the Robins. The rest of the roster was made up of Nikki Crawford, Stacy Anthony, Jacob Yurick, Ryan Degner, Jason Dorr and Tom Smith. The Robins play their last home game at Hosterman Tuesday night against Dakota. The Robins will also be hosting Parent Appreciation Night.

Robins 12- Wayzata 2
The Robins defeated Wayzata with a score of 12-2. After a slow start the Robins came on strong to defeat the Lakers. Josh Bell and Mary Devine were tied in scoring with 4 goals each and Josh also had 1 assist. Jocob Yurick had an outstanding game scoring 3 and having 1 assist. Tim Johnson had a good game playing center forward and goalie. He had 1 assist and while in goal 2 saves. Josh and Andy Bell each had 3 saves while in goal. Rounding out the Robins roster were defenders Ryan Degner and Sam Harrington. Playing offensively for the Robins were Tom Smith, Trevin Rawls, Stacy Anthony who played wing tonight and Jason Dorr who played center forward. Nikki Crawford played both wing and midfielder tonight. The Robins had 38 shots on goal tonight. The Robins travel to Minneapolis for a game Thursday. The Robins final game of the conference is next Tuesday, October 28. It is parent appreciation night. The Robins would like to thank the parents and family for their support. State Tournament is November 8th and 9th at Stillwater.

Robins 10- Moundsview 2
The Robins defeated Moundsview 10-2. Josh Bell was high scorer for the Robins with 4 goals and 2 assists. Andy Bell who started out in goal came out in the second half to score 2 and have 2 assists. Mary Devine and Tim Johnson each scored 1 goal while Ryan Degner had 2 goals and 1 assist. Sam Harrington had a good second half in goal but defensively he had 1 assist for goal. Moundsview had a couple of strong player that gave the Robins real competition. Rounding out the Robins team were Nikki Crawford, Jacob Jurick, Stacy Anthony, Jason Dorr and Tom Smith. The Robins are off until next Tuesday when they play Wayzata at home.

Robins 5- South Washington 9
The Robins were defeated by South Washington with a score of 5-9 in a well fought game. Josh Bell had 3 goals, Mary Devine had 2 goals while Sam Harrington had 2 assists and Tim Johnson and Nikki Crawford each 1 assist. The Robins held South Washington scoreless for the first 12 minutes when So. Washington broke through and scored 3 goals and then another 2 goals before going into the half. After regrouping the Robins came out strong in the first few minutes of the second half with 1,2,3 goals. Strong on defense was Ryan Degner. Good in goal was Andy Bell before being replaced for Sam Harrington with his debut in goal. Sam did an excellent job with little experience as a goalie. The Robins second burst of offensive light came when coaches Evans and Silbaugh put Mary Devine in as forward. With the Bell brothers and Mary the Robins came with in 2 goals before Washington slipped in 2 more goals ending the game 9-5. South Washington and the Robins entered this game with a tie for 1st place in the conference. The Robins played hard throughout the game and never gave up. Great job Robins.

Robins 11- St. Paul Johnson 2
The Robins defeated St. Paul Johnson with a score of 11-2. With Andy Bell starting in goal, St. Paul scored following a score by Josh Bell, the Robins leading scorer. The game was then tied. Late in the first have St. Paul scored again. Then the Robins score again, again and again with out answer from St. Paul Johnson. Coach Evan took Andy Bell out of goal with one save to his credit. Replacing him was Sam Harrington who had a total of 6 saves for the game. Josh Bell scored 6 goals, Andy Bell scored 4 goals and Tim Johnson score 1 goal and had 2 saves to round out the Robins scoring. Having her usual great defensive game was Mary Devine, while Robin Ryan Degner also had a great defensive game. Also playing for the Robins were Stacy Anthony, as a forward, Jacob Yurick, also as a forward, with Jason Dorr and Tom Smith each playing center forward.

Robins 10-Anoka 2
The Robins defeat Anoka 10-2 at Anoka. Missing defender Sam Harrington the Robins came out rather slow in the first few minutes but went ahead 4-1 by half time. Josh Bell scored 3 goals while his brother Andy Bell was in goal. Andy had 14 saves tonight. Jacob Yurick and Stacy Anthony each had 1 goal. With about 10 minutes remaining in the game Andy came out of goal and brother Josh played goalie. Andy scored 5 goals to give the Robins the victory. Great defense tonight by Tim Johnson, Ryan Degner, and Mary Devine. Tom Smith and Nikki Crawford along with sophomore Jason Dorr rounded out the Robins roster.

Robins 9- North Suburban 2
The Robins defeated North Suburban 9-2 with Josh Bell leading the Robins' scoring with 6 goals and 2 assists. Nikki Crawford had 2 goals and 1 assist, while Ryan Degner scored 1 goal unassisted from his defensive position. Mary Devine had 2 assists and Andy Bell had 1 assist. The Robins scored 3 goals in the first have with only 1 goal for North Suburban. Andy Bell had 19 saves to 31 saves for the 2 North Suburban goals. It showed what a great defensive team we had with Sam Harrington, Ryan Degner and Mary Devine. Also contributing to the win for the Robins were Tim Johnson, who played wing and defense, Stacy Anthony, Jacob Yurick, Tom Smith and jason Dorr. This is the 5th straight win for the Robins. The Robins travel to Anoka for a game tomorrow night.

Robins 17- South Suburban 0
The Robins of Robbinsdale, Hopkins, and Mound Westonka defeated the South Suburban Jets with a score of 17-0. Josh Bell made 4 goals while Nikki Crawford made 7 goals. Tim Johnson, Andy Bell and Sam Harrington each made 2 goals this evening. Mary Devine had 1 assist. The Robins shot a total of 47 times during the game. Doing a great job on defense was Ryan Degner who was helped out during the game primarily by Sam Harrington, but also by Mary Devine and Andy Bell. Also playing for the Robins were Jacob Yurick, Jason Dorr and Tom Smith. The Robins bring their record to 4-0 and play Tuesday at home against North Suburban.

Robins 10-Stillwater 1
The Robinnsdale, Hopkins, Mound Westonka Robins defeated Stillwater in the thrid game of the soccer season with a score of 10-1. The Robins came out with a early lead and lead the whole game with Tim Johnson giving up only 1 goal. Tim Johnson had 28 saves in goal while Andy Bell when in goal had 10 saves. Josh Bell was leading scorer for the Robins with 4 goals with Andy Bell close behind with 3 goals. Mary Devine with an outstanding game made 2 goals. Jacob Yurick coming off the bench made 1 goal. Both Nicole Crawford and Jacob Yurick each had 1 assist. Outstanding defensive play by Sam Harrington and Ryan Degner keep Stillwater at bay. Stacy Anthony, Trevin Rawls, and Jason Dorr rounded out the Robins to make it a great effort by the whole team. The Robins play South Suburban next Tuesday in an away game. Great job again Robins!

Robins 6- Park Center 4
The Robbinsdale, Hopkins, and Mound Westonka Robins defeated Park Center, a traditionally strong team by a score of 6-4. Josh Bell scored 4 points while Nicole Crawford scored 2. Assisting in goals were Andy Bell with 1 assist, Tim Johnson with 2 assists, and Stacy Anthony also with 2 assists. The Robins showed great team play coming out first with a goal by Nicole Crawford. Park Center answered and it went back and forth until late in the game when Josh Bell went ahead and then score again at 1 minute remaining to put the game away. This is the second game and second victory for the Robins who hope to continue their winning streak when they travel to Stillwater on Thursday. Having a outstanding game tonight was Josh Bell and Mary Devine who defensively held the team together. The Robins have great defenders in Ryan Degner and Sam Harrington. Andy Bell did a great job with over 10 save after releaving Tim Johnson who also had a good game in goal. Rounding out the Robins roster was Jacob Yurick, Tom Smith and Trevin Rawls. Watch channel 4 TV at 6:30pm on Saturday for a feature on the game and adapted sports. Head coach Kerry Evans has been teaching Developmental and Adapted Physical Education and coaching Adapted Athletics for over 20 years and Marlys Silbaugh has been his assistant for 4 years. She is also a D/APE and Physical Education teacher in the District 281. Both coaches are proud of the great job their team is doing this year. Karen Krussow coaches the Adapted Athletic cheerleaders who are in their 4th year also.

Robins 6- St. Paul Humbolt 4
The Robins of Robbinsdale, Hopkins, and Mound Westonka defeated St. Paul Humbolt in the season opener at Humbolt. Nicole Crawford scored early for the Robins and the Robins took a early lead. Nicole scored again and St. Paul answered. The game proceeded with the Robins scoring and St. Paul answering until late in the second half. Andy Bell, Tim Johnson, and Sam Harrington each scored 1 goal. Nicole scored a 3rd goal with Tim Johnson's goal giving the Robins the 2 point lead. Assists were made by Josh Bell with 2 and Jacob Yurick and Nicole Crawford each 1 assist. While in goal Tim Johnson had 21 saves and Andy Bell while in goal had 8 saves. Humbolt's goalie had 37 saves. Also contributing to the win were Mary Devine, Ryan Degner, Stacy Anthony, new to the team and Trevin Rawls. The Robins round out their team with Tom Smith and Jason Dorr. It was a great season opening for the Robins who graduated 5 players last Spring.
