2/28/2002: South Suburban 8 vs. Robbinsdale 5
The Robbinsdale Robins lost their final conference game, the Robbinsdale Robins lost a hard fought game to South Suburban with a score of 8 to 5. During the first couple of periods the Robins were able to stay close with a score of 3 to 3. South Suburban pulled ahead and the Robins answered with a couple of more goals. Ryan McGee had 35 saves as the Robins goalie. Angel Mire lead the scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists. Both Mary Devine and Jessica Vaughn had one goal each and 2 assists each. Tim Micheal had a great unassisted goal from the center line to round out the Robins scoring. The Robins were missing Heidi Sunders, Tim Micheals , Ross Strochirch, and Sam Clarke.. The team played well tonight with very strong defense from Shawn Wheelock, and Sam Harrington. Senior Kari Larsen played in her final conference hockey game of the season along with other seniors Jessica Vaughn and Tim Micheals. Both Jessica and Tim had outstanding games. Other players who played well tonight were Tom Sanders, and Ryan Degner who each had time on offense as wings and also defense.

2/25/2002: Maple Grove 8 vs. Robbinsdale 6
The Robbinsdale Robins lost 8-6 in a hard fought game Monday night at Maple Grove Sr. High. Ross Strochirch lead scoring with 4 goals and 1
assist. Mary Devine had 1 goal and 3 assists. Ryan McGee once again had
over 20 saves for another great defensive effort. Goalie replacement Mary
Devine did a great job and had 6 saves in the 4 minutes she was in the
goal. The team came from behind to almost tie the game up before time ran
out. The Robins last game is Thursday night at home against South Suburban.

The JV played their first full game tonight and lead most of the way but ended up losing in the last period of play against Maple Grove 8 to 5. Trevor Bison lead scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists. Ryan Degner had 1 goal and 1 assist. Jacob Yurick had 1 goal and Kari Larsen scored 1 goal. Sam Harrington made 1 assist. The JV has shown a great deal of improvement this season. This was the JV's last game of the hockey season.

2/14/2002: Winona 6 vs. Robbinsdale 2
The Robbinsdale Robins were defeated on Valentine's Day by Winona 6 to
2. Winona had 29 attempts on goal while the Robins had 28 attempts on goal with goalies Ryan McGee saving 13, Mary Devine saving 9 and Ross
Strochkrich saving 7. Ross had 1 assist to Tim Michaels who scored both of Robbinsdale's goals. The gamed ended by a last attempt and near goal by Tim Michaels. It was a strong defensive and offensive battle by both
teams. Our Offensive Line of Mary Devine, Jessica Vaughn and Angel Mire were shut down while the strong Winona goalie shut out most of the Robins offense. To date the Robins girls have been the depth of the team with great support from the boys defense. A big and strong Winona defense shut down an otherwise strong Robins offense. The Robins still showed great team play and look forward to meeting Winona again in State Tournament. This loss puts the Robins a half a game back of Winona in second place. The last away game for the Robins is at Maple Grove and the final home game is with South Suburban.

2/12/2002: Robbinsdale 13 vs. Wayzata-Minnetonka 3
The Robins defeated The Robbinsdale Robins defeated the Wayzata-Minnetonka Lakers with a score of 13 to 3 in a game at home Tuesday February 12th. The Robins strong team play resulted again in victory. During the first period goalie Ryan McGee had an outstanding defensive game. He was relieved by Ross Strochrich who continued to do a great job in goal. Top scorer for the evening was Ross Strochrich with 4 goals and 2 assists. Angel Mire had 3 goals and 1 assist, Shawn Wheelock contributed 2 goals and 2 assists. Shawn has been a great defensive power for the Robins. Doing a great job on both offense and defense was Senior Jessica Vaughn with 2 goals and 1 assist. Rounding out the scoring was Mary Devine with 1 goal and 1 assist, and Tim Michaels with 1 goal. Tim Johnson came up with one assist. Sam Harrington, Ryan McGee, Ryan Dagner and Thom Sander all played stong defensively as a team. The Robins have 7 wins and 1 loss going into the last 3 games before State Tournament.

The Robins JV team defeated the Wayzata JV team with a score of 15 to 1. Doing a great job in goal with 10 saves was sophmore Tim Johnson. Leading scoring was Senior Sam Clarke with 4 goals. Freshman Ryan Dagner had 3 goals, Kari Larsen scored 2 goals, Jacob Yurek had 2 goals along with 1 assist and Trevor had 1 goal 1 assist. Ben Davidson was a strong defender who scored from the defensive end with 1 goal. Junior Marni Manning had 1 goal to round out the Robins team work. Eighth grader Jason Dorr played both offense and defense rounding out the great team play by the Robins.

2/7/2002: Robbinsdale 12 vs. North Suburban 2
The Robins defeated North Suburban 12-2 Thursday night February 7th, with a score of 12-2. Ross Strochrich was high scorer with 4 goals. Shawn
Wheelock, Ryan McGee and Jessica Vaughn each had 2 goals. Angel Mire, Sam Harrington and Ryan Dagner each scored 1 goal. Assists were made by Shawn Wheelock, Jessica Vaughn, Sam Harrington, Mary Devine and Heidi Sunders. In goal for the first half of the game was Ryan McGee and second half Ross Strochrich. The Robins have 4 games remaining on the schedule before state tournament. The whole 16 member team played last night.

2/5/2002: Robbinsdale 12 vs. Hudson 5
The Robins defeated Hudson tonight 12 to 5. Highlights of game were 7
assists by Angel Mirer and 1 goal by Senior Sam Clarke. Other contributing members were triple threat Mary Devine and Jessica Vaughn with 3
goals each, and Ross Strochrich with 4 goals. Also contributing with 1 goal each was Heidi Sunders and Ryan McGee. The Robins newcomer, Ryan Degner showed great offense and defensive effort while playing wing. Defensive veterans Tim Michaels, Shawn Wheelock and Tom Sander along with support from goalie Ryan McGee, Ross Strochrich and Mary Devine continue to control the game with their high level of play. Shawn Wheelock and Sam Harrington each had one assist to round out the team effort by the Robins. Also playing tonight for the Robins were Kari Larsen, Marnie Manning, and Tim Johnson. The Robins travel to North Suburban on Thursday evening to enter the second half of the hockey season.

01/30/2002: Robbinsdale 11 vs. Anoka 3
The Robbinsdale Robins defeated Anoka 11-3 tonight at Anoka. High scorer for the game was Ross Strochrich with 7 goals. Shawn Wheelock scored 2 goals and had 1 assist. Angel Mirer and Jessica Vaughn each scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. Mary Devine and Tim Micheals each had 1 assist making it a real team scoring effort. New-comer this season Ryan Dagnar started for the first time, as did Thom Sander. Celebrating her Birthday today was Kari Larsen, a senior on the team. A usual a great job of goal-tending by Ryan McGee,was replaced in the last period first by Ross Strochrich. Ross then was replaced by Mary Devine who also showed strength and quickness in the goal. The Robins appreciate their strong goalkeepers. Once again, the Robins are showing strong team skills as they approach the mid-season mark.

01/29/2002: Robbinsdale 15 vs. Moundsview 1
The Robbinsdale Robins defeated Moundsview tonight with a score of 15 to 1. Ross Strochirich had 5 goals, with Mary Devine 4 goals and 1 assist. Heidi Sunders and Angel Mirer each had 2 goals and 1 assists, Jessica Vaughin and Tim Micheals each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Tim's goal came from the defensive end. Rounding out the scoring with 1 assist was Sam
Harrington. Tonight, goalie Ryan McGee had some relief with the Robins
good offense, Ryan had 15 saves. During the second period Ross Strochirich relieved Ryan McGee as goalie denying any further goals by Moundsview. The rest of the team were instrumental in a great team effort. The Robins meet Anoka on Wednesday.

The Robins JV defeated the Moundsview JV with a score of 4 to 0. Ryan McGee lead the scoring with 2 goals and 1 assist. Ryan Degnar with 2
goals. Goalie Sam Clarke had about 11 saves demonstrating a good
performance at this first attempt as goalie. The rest of the JV squad
showed great supportive play.

01/10/2002: Robbinsdale 4 @ St. Paul Humboldt 6
The Robbinsdale Robins took a 1 to 0 lead early with a goal from Tim Johnson. The Robins held them scoreless until the end of the first period. The Hawks tied it up. The Hawks went ahead by one. The Robins came back to tie it up. The Robins went ahead again followed by two goals from the Hawks. A great defensive effort was shown by Robins goalie, Ryan McGee who had 22 saves. High scorer for the evening was Shawn Wheelock. Angel Mirer also had 1 goal and 1 assist. The Hawks were ahead 6-3 when the Robins once again fought back to make it a 6 to 4 loss. It was a hard fought great first game of the season.
